SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING
The importance of social and emotional learning (SEL) within our schools has never been more apparent. LLS's Hero Squad Program integrates core SEL competencies into schools and communities in an organic, philanthropic, and engaging way.
" SEL is Hero Squad....and Hero Squad is SEL. I personally have seen it at work in classrooms across my school district. This program helps us teach our students the importance of service above self & helping others."
Robert Hunt, Superintendent

SEL SKILLS THAT THE HERO SQUAD HELPS NURTURE:
EMPATHY
Understanding the feelings of other students affected by cancer is the backbone of our program.
TEAMWORK
By actively working together towards a common school objective, students learn the importance of cooperating with others.

COMMUNICATING
By asking potential donors for contributions, students learn the importance of expressing themselves both verbally and nonverbally.
SELF-MOTIVATION
Whether it’s to earn a classroom party, thank-you gifts, or simply to make the world a better place, students are inspired to move closer to their goals.
